Biography
Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Khalizan Sabullah pursued his higher education at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), obtaining a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biochemistry in 2008, and a Master of Science in Environmental Biotechnology in 2012. He then continued his studies at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), completing his Doctor of Philosophy in Food Science in 2015. With 8 years of experience as a lecturer in Food and Environmental Biochemistry, his expertise not only enriches students’ academic insights but also inspires them to strive for excellence in the field of science. Besides teaching, he is actively involved in research in the areas of biosensors, bioremediation, biofuels, and phytomining, producing works and publications that significantly contribute to the advancement of knowledge. He is a former Head of the Biotechnology Program at the Faculty of Science and Natural Resources, and currently holds the position of Head of the BioAgriTech Research Group at UMS, as well as being the editor of the Journal of Environmental Microbiology and Toxicology. He is committed not only to the classroom but also actively engages in research projects and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives that have a positive impact on the community, especially in Sabah.
