Biography
Diana Díaz García (1993, Madrid) has a degree in Experimental Sciences from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (2015), with a Master’s Degree in Advanced Materials in the specialty in Nanotechnology, from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2016). In 2017 she began a contract at the Rey Juan Carlos University as a Visiting Professor, and in 2023 she became an Interim Contract Professor. She is part of the COMET-NANO research group where she wrote and defended her Doctoral Thesis entitled “Design and characterization of new generation nanomaterials with advanced applications in Medicinal Chemistry”, with International Mention and Cum laude (2021). She has completed two international stays: in 2019 at the Institute of Oncology Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuta, Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and in 2020 at Chimie Paris Tech, PSL University (France).
Her research activity focuses on the design and characterization of various multiplatforms for applications in medicinal chemistry, specifically in the discovery and exploitation of new systems with the capacity to become an alternative to conventional treatments against cancer, bacterial conditions and neurodegenerative diseases. She has participated in 9 research projects and has contributed with more than 20 communications in congresses, seminars, scientific events and informative, both national and international. She has published 27 scientific articles in high-impact journals, most of them in the first quartile (Q1), with more than 330 citations and an h-index of 12, and is also a reviewer in scientific journals from different publishers. She has supervised 14 bachelor’s and 1 master’s thesis, and has supervised predoctoral exchange researchers, collaborating with several groups worldwide. In addition to the research work, she has participated in the in numerous teaching innovation projects and activities, belonging to the PlayInnovEdu group.
